Impact

Our mission is to save lives: to prevent euthanasia, to prevent pet overpopulation, and to find safe and loving homes for dogs and cats in need.

But what does that mean? How can we know if we’re meeting our goals?

The numbers! When we look at how many puppies, kittens, dogs, and cats find forever homes through our rescue network – especially when compared to those figures on a statewide and national scale – it becomes clear that Wolf Trap Animal Rescue truly is making an impact. Every dog and cat in our network is a real “rescue story.” They’ve been abused, neglected, and/or unprotected, but when they come to us, they are fed, bathed, vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed/neutered. And maybe most importantly, they find permanent places to call home with people who love them. We’re keeping dogs and cats out of shelters and safe from euthanasia, while at the same time helping local families match up with their new best friends, at a remarkable rate.
