📜 Terms of Use for SMS Communications

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your participation in the text messaging (SMS) communications program operated by Wolf Trap Animal Rescue (“WTAR,” “we,” “our,” or “us”). By opting in to receive SMS messages from WTAR, you agree to these Terms.

1. Program Description

WTAR sends SMS messages to approved foster volunteers to provide:

  • Notifications about puppies/kittens or other animals in need of foster

  • Updates or reminders related to foster care assignments

  • Volunteer coordination alerts

  • Emergency foster requests or transport needs

Message frequency may vary.

2. Eligibility

You must be:

  • At least 18 years old

  • A registered and approved WTAR foster volunteer

  • The authorized user of the mobile number provided

3. Consent to Receive Messages

By enrolling in our SMS program, you consent to receive text messages from WTAR at the number you provided. This includes both automated and manual texts. Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile service provider.

You do not need to opt in to SMS messages as a condition of volunteering, unless it is required for real-time coordination in active foster assignments.

4. Opt-Out Instructions

You may cancel your participation in our SMS program at any time by texting:

  • STOP to unsubscribe

  • HELP for additional assistance

After opting out, you will no longer receive SMS messages from WTAR unless you re-enroll.

5. Data Collection and Use

We collect your name, mobile number, and foster preferences for internal coordination only. Your data will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and will not be sold or shared without your consent.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

The SMS service is provided “as is” and “as available.” WTAR makes no representations or warranties of any kind, express or implied, regarding the reliability, timeliness, or accuracy of the SMS communications.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, WTAR is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages resulting from your participation in the SMS program, including but not limited to message delivery delays or failures.

8. Changes to Terms

WTAR reserves the right to update or change these Terms at any time. Updates will be posted on our website and/or communicated via SMS or email. Continued use of the SMS program after changes constitutes your acceptance of those changes.
