A pet adopted through Wolf Trap Animal Rescue has received the highest-quality veterinary care to help set them up for the #LuxLife with their new family.

The puppy, dog, and cat/kitten adoption fees cover (when medically applicable):

  • Minimum 3-week quarantine period in foster home to screen for life-threatening illnesses

  • Innovative, state-of-the-art pediatric spay & neuter procedures (retail value ~$500-$1,000)

  • Full veterinary exam (retail value ~$75-$100)

  • Core age-appropriate vaccinations (retail value ~$35 each, then 2-3 boosters)

  • Microchip with automatic registration and lifetime membership (retail value ~$30-$50 for microchip alone)

  • Fecal testing to screen for intestinal parasites, repeated until negative (retail value ~$40-$50 each time)

  • Giardia fecal testing (retail value ~$25)

  • Parvovirus testing upon rescue intake for puppies under 4 months (retail value ~$40-$50)

  • Heartworm antigen testing for dogs over 6 months (retail value ~$40-$50)

  • Heartworm microfilaria testing (retail value ~$40-$50)

  • General screening bloodwork for adults over 2 years (retail value ~$100-$200)

  • Treatment during foster period for illnesses or issues uncovered with testing (retail value example: heartworm treatment ~$500-$1000)

  • Deworming/treatment for intestinal parasites (retail value ~$50)

  • Flea/tick control (Nexgard $20) and heartworm prevention (Heartgard $14)

  • Basic obedience, leash, and potty training initiated during 3-week foster period

  • Rescue contact response time: within 1-2 business days

  • Post-adoption insurance (30 days) upon immediate activation
